TODAY'S POSTING
Only today and tomorrow left before I get to weigh myself and see how much I have lost. Normally, I would have anchored that sentence with, "if anything," however, I am a new me since beginning this diet, and I am trying to take certain self defeating saying, words, and terms out of my vocabulary. I am trying to get my mental awareness into a positive outlook, so that I can succeed. So if you hear me saying something negative, call me on it, so I can correct myself and not do it again.
As we all found out the other day, sometimes I do things without thinking about them. I have bad habits ingrained so deeply inside of me, that sometimes I act unconsciously in ways that negatively impact me. Talking bad about myself or putting myself down are a couple of them, eating things without thinking about it first is another. These are a few of the things I am trying to break myself of. I may not see it or catch it myself, but if you do, please call me to task over it.
I got the Magic Bullet at WalMart the other night, and I love it! It is so quick and easy to do so many things with. I made a smoothie in minutes. It has a little recipe book that comes with it, and I am going to try as many of them as I can. I have to adjust some of them to include ingredients I can eat, but they actually have a few that are already fat free, and simple. They show you how to prepare a cocktail party in just 7 minutes. It helps make soups, dips, appetizers, chicken salad, nachos, frozen drinks, smoothies, etc. It also chops, dices, minces, and blends. It's so small and convenient, its not like dragging your big blender out. You should get one. It even grates cheeses for you. it makes making a meal or snack quick and easy.
I really slept in today. I did not get up until almost 2. I was awake, and aware of things going on, but I just rested. I guess my body needed it because I didn't get up until I was ready to . Going to bed after 3 doesn't help either. The little bit likes squeezing my lemon juice now that I have a juicer, so she made my lemon water. I had to heat it up more because she gave it to me cold, and I can't get it down like that. Next, she started to make my tea, while I was working on smoothies for us, but she broke the chain off my tea infuser ball, and it wouldn't close, so I had to be creative and make it myself. I made a smoothie with my yogurt for the morning, fresh raspberries and blackberries that I put in the freezer to keep, and I had to add water because we can't have any juices. It wasn't the best smoothie I've have, but it wasn't the worst either. My smoothie counts for my probiotic and fruit for the morning.
For lunch I had a salad made with romaine (its my lettuce of choice), turkey chunks, and mushrooms. I used my kefir ranch dressing. it was good, but getting kind of boring now.
I placed dinner in the crock pot and was cooking that while I was eating lunch. It smelled so good, I wanted to eat it. I couldn't wait for dinner. It was a recipe I found online that day I was searching how to make something good with chicken and salsa. It was as good as it smelled. I ate mine with a pile of green beans, onions, and mushrooms.
Today was a tough day for drinks. I kept having trouble with my tea, because leaves were floating all in it, making it hard to drink. I drank water all day and night.
RECIPE FOR SLOW COOKER SALSA CHICKEN
4 TO 6 Chicken Breasts
1 Packet of Taco Seasoning
12 oz. Salsa (your favorite, you choose the heat)
Put chicken into crock pot, pour taco seasoning over chicken. Pour salsa over that. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Stir a few times after 4 hours to mix up the seasoning and salsa. You can serve in whole breasts or shred as desired.
This recipe is for work days when you can put dinner in the crock and it will be ready when you get home. However, if you want to eat earlier than 6 hours, cook it on high for about 4 hours. Make sure to stir it after 2 or hours to mix up the seasonings. I shredded ours to git into tacos for the family and left a few large chunks for me to eat.
I posted this recipe on facebook after receiving a couple requests for it.
