TODAY'S POSTING
So here we are, day 15. I am still going strong. Two days until weigh in. I found out yesterday that there is this whole 17 Day Diet community on Dr. Phil.com and The Doctors. Thousands of people! It was a trip to see them - overwhelming, but nice. I found out there are quite a few of us out there that have more than 150 pounds to lose. It's nice to have company in that struggle, but I really don't wish this on anybody. I joined a 100+ group. I also emailed Dr. Phil before I found the community. Just to say thanks for show casing Dr. Mike's book and diet plan.
Feeling kinda poorly today, runny nose, slight cough. I have been much colder than I usually get these past few days. It is supposed to snow out here, but my hands are impossible to keep warm. Dr. Mike said that would happen as we lose weight because we are losing some of our insulation. Who knew it would work so fast?
Got up around 10:30. Little bit made my lemon water for me, and then prepared my tea too. She also brought me a yogurt and an apple at the same time. The water was kind of too cool, but I forced it down. Even though I use the same cup everyday, it seems like the cup of water gets bigger every day. Had a pear for snack. Made grilled chicken breast for lunch with steamed carrots and cauliflower. I really don't like cooked carrots, but I need a change and the vitamins they offer, so I ate plenty of them today (and last night).
Went to Walmart to get more vegetables, parm, kefir or acidophilous milk, fruit, etc., but their shelves were nearly empty, and was empty of all the items I seemed to need. I barely got any vegetables and only apples. Their prices are significantly higher than Winco where I usually go. It was hard to think about paying higher prices on items I know I can get cheaper closer to home, so I skipped some things. I picked up rotisserie chicken for dinner because I did not feel like cooking as it was getting late. I had every intention of eating only the breast meat without the skin. When I got home and served it up, I popped a piece of skin in my mouth before I even thought about what I was doing. wah wah wah. So I guess that is considered cheating? I know skin isn't on the menu. However, I am not going to fall apart over the mistake. I am already moving on. I ate more carrots that were left over from lunch and also prepared one of my favorite holiday dishes that I make every Thanksgiving and Ramadan - green beans and onions. Tonight I added mushrooms to it. I will give the recipe below. They were fabulous as usual. Probably not much nutrients left in them the way they are prepared, but they sure tasted good and they are still vegetables! Drank 2 waters before going to store. Drank two waters with dinner. Drank 2 teas after dinner so far.

Hi, I found your blog through your posting on The Doctors site. Just thought I'd stop by and say hello. I have much weight to lose, much more even then you. In fact, if I lose 197 pounds like you need to do, I'll still be fat! So my journey is a very long one indeed. If it helps to know that there is someone out there that has even more to lose then here I am! I actually need to lose about 300 pounds. I've been fat all my life, dieting and failing repeatedely and always ending up fatter than before the diet. I am very excited about this diet, I am on day 13 of cycle one. I haven't weighed because the scale always defeats me, so I've made the commitment to weigh only once every cycle. I am beginning to be very nervous about stepping on that scale on Friday morning. Sometimes I'm sure I've lost weight and other times I think I haven't lost any. It sounds like you haven't weighed yet either so I wish you much success when you do! Have a wonderful day! Look me up on the doctors site, I am brennasmom11
