Day Seven - Cycle One

Well, I made it through the first week, without cheating, starving, or craving!  This is a first for me.  I feel super proud of myself.  Losing this much weight is akin to kicking some other kind of addiction, only harder because when you kick drugs or alcohol you walk away, and try to stay away.  With food, you need it to survive and it's everywhere you go. You have to eat it, but you have to learn to eat right.   Having so much weight to lose is very daunting at times.  It really feels like I could never possibly make it  However, I do feel like I am making progress, which is more than I can say for every other diet that I never finished or succeeded at.
I had a sleepless night.  I fell asleep after 3:49 a.m. and woke up at 6:45 a.m to get the little one to school and me to the doctor.  It takes me all day to take the bus out to Palmdale for my doctor visit and come back - I leave after dropping off the little bit, and I get back in time to pick her up from school.  Today, I managed to stop by Winco to pick up more salad and veggies and turkey.  I forgot the water! but I still have a case and a half.

I had my ritual lemon water to start the morning - it is getting harder every day to get that down, instead of easier.  I can't seem to get the temperature just right yet.  Too cold and its sour lemonade.  Too hot and its like tea and undrinkable.  I choked it down, literally.  I had my tea, which I made on my own, even though the little bit was home, she was getting ready.  I ate my yogurt and a pear, and off we went.
Prior to leaving I searched the fridge for appropriate foods to take for snack and lunch.  I was out of salad and veggies.  I took an apple with me and decided to pick up a salad or some grilled chicken and veggies.  I did pack my tea and infuser, determined to order a hot cup of water to make my tea where ever I ended up for lunch, and I did.  I ate half of my apple, but couldn't finish it because it wasn't crisp or cold.  it was kind of mushy and warm.  Yuck - only one and a half fruits today.
Since it was cold today, and since I have been eating cold salads for lunch all week, I decided I wanted a hot lunch, so I went to Chili's (alone) and ordered grilled chicken and stemmed veggies.  They charged me for a child's plate, so I made out good - under ten bucks with tip (20% of course! - don't be cheap and stiff those servers!  They work extremely hard and most of the time they work for only tips and no wages!  If you don't tip they don't make money to pay their bills and feed their families, etc.)  Boy was that chicken and veggies delicious!  I was happy to discover that the previous days, blahs did not roll over into today as far as my food not tasting good and being fulfilling.  I even ordered grilled onions and bell peppers to go with my steamed broccoli and carrots.  It was delicious.
I went to get the little one from school and called my dad because we were supposed to go to the hospital to see my niece.  Him and my aunt's came over to visit to my humble hovel.  It was a great visit.  We did not go to the hospital because Automn had too many visitors and was tired.  Off they went.
I made chicken stir fry last night.  Boy oh boy do I love that stuff.  Those fresh veggies for the stir fry are from "EAT FRESH"  They are so fabulous.  The small amount of Kikoman lite soy sauce I use really flavors it up.  The broccoli, cabbage, carrots, sweet peas, and  Brussels sprouts were great!
Today's tally is as follows:  Green Tea = 4; Water = 5; probiotics = 2; fruit = 1-1/2; Proteins = grilled chicken and stir fry chicken; fats = 1-1/2 tbs olive oil; veggies = tons. I really need to do better on those liquids.  work on that Rebecca!

I forgot to mention last night when I went to pick the little one up at my friend Dawn's that mom told me I looked like I have lost weight!  For the first time in my life, I said, "why, yes I have! and Thank You!"  I am so excited that someone noticed after only six days!  This plan really does work.  They were asking questions and want to try the 17 Day Diet too.  I hope you will!  It's the best thing !     My doctor also said my facial complexion looks soft and glowing - it must be that Wu Long Green Tea.  I looked it up last night to reorder some so I don't run out and I was shocked at how much I paid for it.  I thought it was around $54 for three bags, but its $94!  Money must not have been as important to me in those days, because I don't remember that even occurring to me that the price is exorbitant.  It really is the best tea!  I am wondering how I am going to be able to afford to replenish my supply.
